nestled deep within a forest lies a sanctuary dedicated to the care of individuals with severe physical and mental disabilities. Acclaimed author, Yoko (portrayed by Kaho Takaku), finds herself at a loss for inspiration and is compelled to work here. Struggling to maintain their marriage, she and her husband Shimpei (played by Keisuke Koide) navigate their relationship with utmost care after an unexpected incident. The staff at the sanctuary treat the patients inhumanely, using violence as entertainment; a reality that even the newly arrived Yoko finds disturbing. Despite voicing concerns to her superiors, she is met with deaf ears. Only her fellow colleague, Yuu (played by Fumi Nanao), and Atsushi (portrayed by Shota Sometani) seem willing to listen. However, Atsushi harbors a simmering anger towards society, and as the behavior of his peers worsens, his growing sense of justice and purpose becomes twisted, culminating in events that shake Japan to its core. This poignant drama sheds light on societal prejudices, empathy, and the indomitable human spirit.
