在晚朝末年，倭乱蔓延，权力专属官僚，东厂曹公公 secretly colludes with the plundering plunderers, devastating China's martial arts world, seeking to orchestrate a counterattack. Longhai, disguised as the master of the Swallow Sword Gate, is in fact a covert anti-plunder organization member, tasked not only with annihilating the plunderers but also with exposing those within the court who betray China.
Meanwhile, Cao Gong discovers that there are opponents within the martial arts world, and secretly assigns spies to monitor every move of each martial arts school. To avoid detection while carrying out these clandestine missions, Longhai seeks out his long-lost brother, West Gate Long (also played by Zhao Lianshan), and convinces him to impersonate him.
Though they are brothers, the personalities and life paths of West Gate Long and Long are starkly different: the younger brother is a fearless hero, while the elder is timid and cowardly. Reluctant but unable to resist his brother's pleas and threats, the timid West Gate Long agrees to take on the role. Thus, the imposter becomes the master of the Swallow Sword Gate and enters a chaotic world of martial arts.
Upon arriving at the Swallow Sword Gate, West Gate Long faces his first challenge: he must deceive his brother's family members, including his simple-minded big disciple Hé Mèng (Cheng Yōnī), his passionate lover Sì Yě Fēi (Gě Shūshū 饰), his reckless second disciple Zhà Dèzhú (Sòng Xiǎofēng 饰), and of course, his brother's daughter West Gate Jī (Lǐ Xiǎobǎi 饰).
West Gate Long attempts to keep a low profile, but soon finds that peace is elusive as storm after storm brews. Masters from the Tree Pool Sect, Five Venom Sect, and others flock to his doorstep. The most dangerous of all is when West Gate Long inadvertently draws the attention and suspicion of East Factory Cao Gong (Yáng Shùlín 饰)!
