在小村中，一位名门的寡妇—医生、教师——董女士，长年以高尚品性霸 Own the village with her unyielding virtues and pristine integrity. The villagers held her in great respect, admiring her strength and purity. One day, a group of officials, led by the charismatic Yang Zhouyi (portrayed by Jo Hong), arrived at her home for temporary lodging. As time went by, a profound bond developed between Beatrice (Beatrice is an alternate name for the character) and Yang Zhouyi. Yet, an unexpected turn came when their daughter, Mei-Ling (Mei-Ling is an alternative name), confessed her affection for Yang Zhouyi. Meanwhile, the villagers humbly petitioned the Emperor on Beatrice's behalf to grant her a title of purity. Caught between societal expectations and family ties, Beatrice concealed her feelings for Yang Zhouyi, allowing them to linger in her heart beneath layers of duty and tradition. In the end, Mei-Ling and Yang Zhouyi got married, leaving Beatrice with a heavy heart, mourning her unfulfilled love while maintaining her vow of chastity.
