Through Don Pedro, they meet Zaffiro, a disillusioned singer who once attended this very institution. His girlfriend, Nita, and he have parted ways, and his sick father urgently needs money for medical expenses.
The final character, Lari, runs a candy store and is also struggling to get into the university, just like Han and Bao. Don Pedro suggests that Lari donate twenty-five thousand liras to the school to secure admission.
Facing exams looming overhead and a father gravely ill, they find themselves in need of a large sum of money. In an unconventional manner, they pool their resources - Han has dreams that yield winning lottery numbers, which Bao interprets upon waking. The local lottery vendor, overwhelmed by their streak of success, becomes increasingly uneasy.
With faith in their fortune, they seek out the local mafia boss, Blue, with whom Han convinces to invest. Lari even offers his candy store as collateral, while Blue demands they provide the winning numbers the following day. That night, everyone eagerly awaits Bao's dream.
However, fate has other plans - Bao stays awake and has a nightmare instead. The dream turns into a disaster, thwarting their hopes of success.
