nestled amidst towering mountains, the tranquil hamlet of Amakase has preserved its ancestral rituals, known as Obanazoku, for centuries. In the serene summer of Showa 58, this secluded village welcomed a newcomer: the naive yet resolute youth, Genji Kai (voiced by Takahiro Sakurai). His unfamiliar surroundings left him feeling out of place, but his encounters with the kind-hearted Dragon Palace Reina (voiced by Maaya Sakamoto), the vivacious Yakumi Mei (voiced by Sora Amamiya), the courageous yet delicate North Bars Sandou (voiced by Mika Kobayashi) and the timid but strong-willed Hatsune Akane (voiced by Yuri Ehara) soon turned his new life into a vibrant adventure.
As the days passed, preparations for the annual Obanazoku Festival were underway. Yet, amidst the festive atmosphere, whispers of Amakase's mysterious past and the terrifying incidents associated with it began to reach Genji's ears. Known as the "Shinhibitsu," these events involved inexplicable disappearances and fatalities that had occurred during the festival over the years. Were these tales merely myths, or did they hint at a darker truth beneath the village's simple, carefree existence? As an outsider, Genji found himself drawn closer to the hidden secrets of this enigmatic event.
