In this classic drama, the wealthy merchant Yang Boqi grieves his deceased wife for many years and indulges his delicate daughter, Jasmine. He has a warm relationship with his sister-in-law, Xiao LiLi, but fears displeasing Jasmine by showing their friendship openly. To marry Lily LiLi, he plans to first arrange Jasmine's marriage to the son of the car company owner, Wang ZhaoFeng, but she ends up falling in love with two employees of the company: Wang DaWei and Pool BaoLuo. Yang Boqi is upset by this arrangement. Wang DaWei approaches Lily LiLi for help, and as a mother, she threatens to divorce him unless he agrees to Jasmine's marriage. Left with no choice, Yang Boqi reluctantly consents, and the three couples eventually form new families together.
