Situated within a picturesque resort, the young worker Mi (portrayed by Filo) finds herself accommodating a man with two girls who appear to be elementary school-aged. Despite harboring numerous reservations, she opens two rooms for them in accordance with her philosophy of "doing more is better than doing less." Upon reviewing the surveillance footage later, Mi witnesses the man entering the girls' room under suspicious circumstances, a sense of unease gnawing at her. She secretly records this incident on her phone.
The girls are named Meng Xiaowen (played by Zhou Meijun) and Zhang Xinxin (portrayed by Jiang Xinyu), and the man is their "surrogate father." Following this disturbing event, Meng Xiaowen's mother reports the crime and enlists the help of lawyer He Zhen (portrayed by Shi Ke). The hope is that justice will prevail for them. However, due to insufficient evidence, the suspect remains free, and the most crucial piece of evidence – kept hidden in Mi's possession – could tip the scales.
