在战争eve，北方地区 flames of resistance ignited, fueling the resistance against the Japanese occupation. The ruthless commander of the Imperial Army, Shūhō, is a war fanatic sworn to crush any semblance of rebellion. During a raid, he notices the survival of Captain Genya, vowing to capture this elusive figure. Injured and on the run, Genya meets Commander Gennosuke, a member of an undercover guerrilla unit. Unbeknownst to them, they stumble upon another ambush by Shūhō's forces, resulting in the sacrifice of Gennosuke's entire unit. To fulfill his brother's dying wish, Genya assumes his role and collaborates with the underground party, utilizing a group of laborers in hiding to form a guerrilla force. Under the leadership of comrade Yuki, they carried out sabotage missions such as bombing mines, derailing trains, toppling artillery emplacements, and disrupting munitions convoys, successfully completing various assigned tasks. As targets on Shūhō's hitlist, they faced numerous battles, with each team member maturing into seasoned guerrilla fighters. Eventually, they accomplished the seemingly impossible mission of rescuing imprisoned resistance fighters. The independent unit leader honored the team with a commendation, praising them as soldiers born and shaped in the fires of war.
