Townsfolk whisper tales of an evil, perverted old man living deep within, many disappearances traced back to him. This forbidden trail has become the town's taboo, while the Hartleys, generations-long residents, are the prime suspects.
Newcomers, teenager Derek Lucas (Andrew Seeley), his mother (Wendy Anderson) and younger brother Tobias (Nicholas Elia), move into their grandmother's house in this town.
