In 1984, following the announcement of the "million soldier demobilization" strategy, Method Biao Yan, He You Lin, and Kang Ning found themselves leaving military service to join different sectors – foreign trade enterprise Yong Jiang Textile Factory, provincial commission, and rural collective garment factory respectively. The winds of change were sweeping across the nation. After experiencing setbacks in 1989's "first price reform" and being forced out of the textile factory, Method Biao Yan encountered yet more difficulties. However, with the resurgence of the reform spirit and Deng Xiaoping's "Southern Tour Speech", Method found renewed hope. He partnered with ambitious youth Lin Yun Fei and embarked on the journey of internet entrepreneurship.
Successfully navigating the nation's price system reforms, and overcoming the "second price reform" hurdle, Method returned to his roots in the textile factory, leading the charge towards international competition. This averted the factory's impending collapse. As China re-entered the global stage in the new millennium, Method seized the opportunity to realize his dream of modernizing the textile factory, breaking through numerous barriers and taking the factory public, joining the ranks of the world's top 500 companies.
Meanwhile, his rival He You Lin, once a comrade-in-arms with Method's older brother, gradually adapted to the reform tide, loosening his grip on tradition, and actively helping businesses undergo transformation. In contrast, Kang Ning used his position in the rural collective enterprise to amass personal wealth by illegally selling production lines for smuggling, even going so far as to frame Method, his former superior officer. After serving time in prison, Kang Ning fled to the Middle East, where he was hunted down by organized crime syndicates. He was eventually rescued by Method and Helping Lin, allowing him to start anew under their guidance.
With the unveiling of the "One Belt One Road" strategy, the trio of brothers raised a toast to the future, sailing forth once more in the wind that would carry them onward.
