在脏 corruption-ridden Jakarta, the line between law enforcement and criminal underworld blurs. Bunawe (portrayed by Cok Simbara) enlists Ram (Iko Uwais, portrayed by) to infiltrate the lair of ruthless kingpin, Chan Koska (Tio Pakusodewo). At that moment, Koska's son, Yuda (Arifin Putra, portrayed as Yuda), is serving time in prison. In an attempt to win his trust, Ram, who goes by the name of Redemption, gets imprisoned and engages in a deadly cat-and-mouse game. Two years later, Ram steps out of jail and reconnects with Koska's organization. Meanwhile, the city is plagued by the cunning moves of the enigmatic Fujii (played by Ken'ichi Matsuyama) from the Japanese yakuza, as well as the ambitious Bajarra (Alex Abbad), who rises in power on the other side. To claim the throne, gangsters keep igniting fires throughout the city, and even the arrogant Yuda dreams of surpassing his father's criminal empire.
