在宁静的院子之中，善良的大狗史派克 tenderly serenades his cherished son, Thatcher, with a lullaby. The soothing melody ushers Thatcher into a blissful slumber. Despite his deep affection for the boy, even wishing to shield him from any disturbance, a pair of mischievous neighbors, Tom and Jerry, continually disrupt their tranquil family life.
One fateful day, while chasing the duo, Tom accidentally strikes poor old Mr. Shepherd, awakening Thatcher with a startle that sets off his incessant bouts of crying. Fuming with anger, the protective father warns and sends Tom packing, only to be faced again by the relentless pursuit of the troublemaking pair. The endless cycle of startles leaves little Thatcher restless and in tears, causing great exasperation for his patient father... but the trouble is far from over!
