However, he was mistakenly accused and brutally attacked by the village elder, Wang SanHang. Daughter Wang FengNing, however, intervened, saving her father from further harm.
The villagers grew increasingly frustrated with Wang SanHang's inability to address the issue, leading to a secret plot to replace him as the village leader. Li JiaMan declined the offer, emphasizing that capturing the thieves was of utmost importance, not becoming the village leader. Wang SanHang scoffed at this idea and warned Li JiaMan not to expect support from his daughter, Wang FengNing.
Disregarding Wang SanHang's warnings, Wang FengNing confronted her father, seeking an explanation for his decision. Unsatisfied with his response, she stormed off in anger. When the village election for a new leader arrived, Li JiaMan received the most votes, leaving Wang SanHang fuming and out of office.
Just as Wang SanHang was about to lose hope, villager Xiao Si rushed in to announce that the thieves had returned to the village. With instructions from the former village elder, Xiao Si successfully cornered the two culprits. Excited by this development, Wang SanHang rallied the townspeople to capture the thieves. However, as he realized his position had changed, he hesitated, unsure of his new role. Li JiaMan, seizing the opportunity, loudly proclaimed: "What are we waiting for? Let's listen to the old village elder and capture the thieves…"
